Be aware of what media you take into your mind. There is a subtle brainwashing going on via music, television and movies. It's not some governmental conspiracy or anything like that...just a side effect of taking in low vibration ideas. There are also mind-expanding songs, shows and films (I'm far from a “kill your television” person), so simply choose mindfully what you take in.

Love songs, for example, are rarely healthy. There seems to be an implicit agreement between the songwriter and the listener that enmeshment and neediness are not only good things, but necessary in love. We will surely experience greater role models in television shows and movies, as people show they're interested in new paradigm ideas about relationships. In the meantime, use your analytical abilities to observe the kinds of messages you are receiving from the media.

If the love song states that someone can't live without another person, look out. Beware of the show that portrays a couple taking passive-aggressive jabs at each other for 95% of the show, only to have a “tender moment” as they look at their children sleeping. And be conscious during a movie that shows someone's quest for wholeness as it relates to their search for a “soul mate.”

You're whole. Love is an expansion of your wholeness. Don't be fooled by any ideas that reflect less than this.
